Above and Beyond ShirtsEach member who is selected to be a part of our group received an 'Above and Beyond' t-shirt (funded by the AODA program grant). This will allow members to be identified in the community as positive role models and to come together as a support for each other.

Music in the Park / Osseo Farmer's MarketAbove and Beyond was given the opportunity to raise funds through selling the 50/50 raffle tickets at the Music in the Park / Osseo Farmer's Market that runs through the summer and early fall. We are so grateful for this opportunity to not only fundraise but also be seen in the community. We handed out drawstring bags printed with a QR code that will lead people directly to our website.

September Meeting and Poster Nomination ActivityAt our September meeting we ate pizza from Foster's Fireside and had students nominate who they wanted to be featured on the Thunder Roles posters. Students were to nominate and defend who they thought would be the best role models to represent their class. These students will be featured on a poster after a photo shoot in October. The pizzas, juice, poster printing, photoshoot and graphic design are all covered by a grant from the state of Wisconsin covering AODA programing. Students featured on the poster can be found at the Thunder Roles Poster tab here. 2021-2022 Thunder Roles Posters
October Meeting and Elementary School VisitAs one of the initiatives of this program is to make sure our good role models are visible, we wanted to make sure to make an appearance with our youngest students in the district. The Above and Beyond group was able to join some of the elementary classes at recess for Red Ribbon Week in October! The high school students may have been more excited about recess than the elementary students! It was fun to see such great high school role models interact with the younger students. Most members played outside, but some volunteered in the Kindergarten classrooms to read favorite books and participate in the center activities. We finished it off with subway lunch back at the high school.

November Meeting Poster Photo Shoot and Hometown Hero Night PreparationsAt the beginning of November, we completed the photoshoot for the Above and Beyond poster. The poster was designed in November and sent to the printer in December. You can view the poster here. Later in the month, we started planning for our hometown hero night. Thank you to the Stockyard for the pulled pork, cupcakes and Mac and Cheese. The November meeting focused on preparing our thank yous and getting organized for Hometown Hero Night. Invitations will go out to the selected hometown heroes for Hometown Hero Night shortly after the meeting. We plan on having the recognition at halftime of the boys basketball game on December 16th! Come out and support the awesome community members that Above and Beyond choose as hometown heroes this year!

Hometown Hero NightAt a basketball game in December, Above and Beyond group recognized almost 50 'Hometown Heroes' who the members felt have had a positive impacts on them. This community has so many people who help students grow academically, athletically, in character, and as contributing members of the community. We are so incredibly thankful for those who reach out beyond themselves and give back to the students at OF. Click here for the list of hometown heroes that were honored by Above and Beyond Members.
February Activity - Valentines for Each High School StudentIn February, personalized Valentines from Above and Beyond members were delivered to every single one of the students at Osseo-Fairchild High School. Each Valentine had a special message to the student about positive characteristics they bring to the school. The Valentine's were attached to airheads because what is a Valentine without a sweet treat?
