High School Health
What will we learn in high school health?
EVERYTHING!!!!! Well, sort of. The idea of health is so much more than just being free of disease. There is a basic set of topics that health educators cover. They are alcohol and other drugs, healthy eating, mental and emotional health, personal health and wellness, physical activity, safety, sexual health, tobacco and finally violence prevention. The national health education standards can be found HERE. Unfortunately, our grading program, STI, does not allow a large amount of data available to post. This site will allow larger attachments, videos and notes from class. As the year progresses, I will upload class summaries, notes and the connection to the national standards. (Please understand that many lessons are multifaceted and cover more than one standard and only the main standard followed may be listed). The basic framework for the health curriculum is based on the structure presented in the Prentice Hall Health textbook. Simply, click on the lesson button below. (I will add lessons as we go)
