Class Summary - Today we role played one of the situations that we discussed using ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) in recognizing suicide risks. We then started watching DVD, “Odd Girl Out”. The movie Odd Girl Out deals with bullying and relational aggression. We will use the video as a basis for discussion Monday of next week (tomorrow we will be finishing the video). Odd Girl Out follows Vanessa who's friends quickly turn on her and she becomes the focus of bullying, particularly from some kids who once were here friends. Vanessa exhibits many signs of depression and warning signs for suicide. We will use this as a door for discussion on these serious topics.
