Class Summary - We started out class with a quiz on the heart anatomy and correcting the blood concept map and blood flow through the heart assignments. We reviewed blood flow through the heart. Then we talked about blood typing. We talked about two different parts of blood typing that were important to prevent agglutination (clumping or rejection of blood cells). We talked about ABO blood typing and which types can give to and receive which types. Then we talked about Rh blood groups and who they can give to and receive blood from.
Homework - Test on Tuesday of next week
Objectives - Students will trace the path of blood through the heart and its chambers and valves. Students will explain the ABO and Rh systems of blood typing. Students will explain agglutination and the relationship to transfusions.
