Class Summary - Today we reviewed the afferent nervous system including the somatic portion (senses) and the visceral portion (internal organs). Then we continued on the peripheral nervous system to discuss the efferent system. This is responsible for motor function. Most of the somatic motor portion of the efferent system is voluntary except for reflexes. The autonomic portion of the efferent system has two portions the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation / return to normal) portion. https://biologycorner.com/quiz/quiz_brain_anatomy.html
