Class Summary - We started out today with a quiz on 9.3 which is the vision section of the chapter. Then we lectured on vision. We started out talking about the parts of the eye. We discussed the accessory features like eyelashes, eyelids and tear ducts. We discussed the 7 bones that create the eye orbit. We talked about the muscles that move the eye and the basic anatomy (pupil, iris, lens, sclera, choroid, retina, optic nerve, ciliary body etc.). Students were then to go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U04yoLrQHNo and watch a cow eye dissection. They were to complete a worksheet in preparation for the cow eye dissection tomorrow.
Objectives - Students will describe the anatomy and function of the accessory organs of the eye. Students will describe the anatomy of the eye and give a function of each part.
