Class Summary - Today the goal is to learn about contraceptives aka 'Birth Control'. It is very important that you are able to talk to a trusted adult in your life when thinking about birth control options as not all options are right for you! In the last lesson, I mentioned how abstinence is the only way to prevent any negative consequences (physical and emotional) that come with sexual activity. Abstinence is the only 100% way to protect against STIs, pregnancy and emotional concerns. Today, I want you to look at some slides and a couple videos to see other common devices that help create a safer situation regarding sex. Remember that none of these are 100%, though if a student chooses to be sexually active they need to know their options to keep themselves safer. The main point of today's lesson is for students to know that there are many options for birth control and people who are sexually active should discuss options with a doctor or trusted adult! Watch the short videos below and go through the slides below the videos. When finished complete the exit slip in google forms found in the 'homework' section below to complete today's lesson.
