Class Summary - Today the goal is to learn about active communication. Please read the summary and then watch the video that follows. When completed, fill out the google form below the video.
In all aspects of life it is important to be a good communicator. This is no different with our sexual health. We need to be able to effectively communicate our wants, boundaries and feelings in order for sex to be a positive experience for all involved. Assertive communication is the ability to express positive and negative ideas and feelings in an open, honest and direct way. It recognises our rights whilst still respecting the rights of others. It allows us to take responsibility for ourselves and our actions without judging or blaming other people. Just think of how often our words and thoughts get misinterpreted! Go here: https://kidshealth.org/en/teens/assertive.html and read more about assertive communication (passive and aggressive communication too).
