Above and Beyond TShirtsEach member who qualified to be a part of our group received an 'Above and Beyond' tye died t-shirt. This will allow members to be identified in the community as positive role models and to come together as a support for each other. The school district administration really rallied to help us continue to do many of the things we would do in a 'normal year'.

November MeetingNovember's meeting was used to prepare to recognize Hometown Heroes. Above and Beyond members spent the hour writing thank you notes to their hometown heroes Students also had to complete their bios that will be on display recognizing students of the week. Bios will include information about why the Above and Beyond members think it's a good idea to stay drug and alcohol free, why it's important to be a good role model, what activities they are involved in, who their hometown hero is and why, why they love living in Osseo-Fairchild, along with a picture. The bios are used for the Above and Beyond student of the week information that is posted in the commons, on the website, in the high school health hallway and at the elementary school. The picture to the right is the Thunder Clap Student of the week wall. Check out the 202020-2021 Thunder Clap Students of the Week Here.

October Meeting and Poster Nomination ActivityAt our October meeting we ate Subway and had students nominate who they wanted to be featured on the Thunder Roles posters. Students were to nominate and defend who they thought would be the best role model to represent their class as positive role models. These students were featured on a poster after a photo shoot in February (things were really pushed back this year). The subway meal boxes, poster printing, photoshoot and graphic design were all covered by a grant from the state of Wisconsin covering AODA programs. Students featured and the poster can be found at the Thunder Roles Poster tab here. 2020-2021 Thunder Roles Poster.
Hometown Hero RecognitionIn a normal year, we would invite members' hometown heroes to be recognized publicly at a sporting event. Unfortunately, that was not able to be a reality this year. Hometown heroes were recognized during the student of the week's monthly posting on the school website. Hometown heroes were also sent a letter of recognition, a thank you from their Above and Beyond member and a magnet as seen to the left. The hometown heroes are just a handful of the amazing adults that we have in our community. Click on the link below to see who was recognized.

High School ValentinesOur February meeting consisted of eating subway boxes (our options were limited this year with COVID). During this meeting, our students were to create compliments and positive contributions comments for all of the students in the high school. These compliments were typed up onto a valentine and attached them to candy. The valentines delivered to high school students on the Monday after Valentine's day. We hope that this gesture helps ALL high school students feel like they contribute in a positive way to making our school a great place to be!
