Class Summary - Today started out finishing up our discussion on relational aggression and comparing Odd Girl Out to Osseo-Fairchild. Today students used guided discussion to assess what students already knew (or thought that they knew) about the topics that we will learn about. Students used discussion sheets to talk about what they knew about the male reproductive system, the female reproductive system, hormonal changes for each sex, protective factors against sexually transmitted infection and pregnancy, reasons why abstinence is the most positive choice for avoiding negative consequences regarding sexual behavior, temptations with sexual behaviors for teens (why teens have sex if there is negative consequences), what students already know about conception / pregnancy and childbirth, connections with parents regarding talking about these topics, characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, and what the students value.
