Class Summary - Today we started talking about stress. We talked about the fact that stress is not always bad. We defined stress as our body's reaction to to a challenge. Stress can be good if it helps us change behavior or focus or prepare better. Stress can be negative if it causes anxiety or loss of focus. Stress can even cause physical problems if it builds up.l We started out with a stress assessment. This will only be seen by the student and if he/she feels uncomfortable with a question he / she does not need to answer it is all voluntary. We assessed stress based on 'control', 'support system', 'stress resilience', we will skip money as it may not apply to us at our age, and 'time'. We will do the other categories next class period. Students then were given 'bio dots'. Bio dots are stickers that change color based on temperature of our hands that can be an indicator of stress. Students should wear it during the day and record a change (OUTSIDE OF CLASSTIME) in color and what they were doing when the color changed. They should record this on a sheet that we put in our planners.
