Class Summary - We started out class going over chapter 2 test. Today we talked about stress. We defined stress and talked about how stress is not always a negative thing. Stress can be good; eustress or bad; distress. We talked about the fight or flight response in relation to stress and it's effect on the body. We defined and categorized stressors (everyday stressors, catastrophes, environmental stressors, and major life changes). We talked about some ways that we can reduce the amount of stress in our lives. Next class period we will do some stress relief activities. Students then were told that they will be using biodots. One day this week, they will need to see me before school to get their biodot. They should record colors throughout the day and what they were doing when they got that color.
Homework - Students should come to my room to get a biodot before school sometime this week. They should record their color at different times throughout the day.
Objectives - Students will describe what causes a person to experience stress. Students will explain who individuals can have different responses to the same stressor.
