Class Summary - Today we talked about soft tissue injuries. We discussed closed wounds and internal bleeding. The simplest type of close wound is a bruise (ice and pressure). We also introduced open wounds. We categorized open soft tissue injuries as abrasions, lacerations, avulsions and punctures. We talked about the care for each and the dangers of each. We also looked into when stitches would be needed, tooth injuries, nose injuries, embedded objects and tetanus.
