Class Summary - We discussed the milk group 'keep low fat and calcium rich' like low fat cheese and milk. We talked about how in order for dairy to fit in the milk group it needs to retain its calcium (cream cheese, whipped cream and sour cream do not count).
We also talked about the fruit group. The rule is 'focus on fruit'. We can count 100% fruit juice but we want to limit juice because of its high calorie and sugar content.
There will be a quiz on the food group rules the day after we complete the next lesson on meat and beans and oils.
