Blood Vessels and Problems of the Circulatory System
Class Summary - Today we finished our notes on the cardiovascular system. We talked about blood vessels. Arteries take blood away from the heart and to the body. Veins return used blood to the heart. Arterioles connect arteries to the capillaries. Capillaries are where blood exchange waste and nutrients into the body. Venuoles connect capillaries to veins. Then we discussed some common diseases / problems with the cardiovascular system.
Homework - The test on Blood and the Cardiovascular system is scheduled for Monday.
Objectives - Students will name the three types of blood vessels and describe their structure and function. Students will describe the anatomical and physiological changes that occur in the cardiovascular system as we age.
