Class Summary - Today we took a quiz on the anatomy of the heart. Today we started talking about pulse. We defined pulse and talked about the 7 major pulse points. We used stethoscopes to try to hear our heart beat at those seven points. Today we finished off talking about pulse. We talked about resting heart rate. We took our resting heart rate and compared it to the norm. We talked about maximum heart rate and that the universally accepted formula for maximum heart rate is 220-age. Then we talked about target heart rate which is the range in which we want to work out to get benefits. This is 60-80% of the maximum heart rate.

Objectives - Students will trace the path of blood through the heart and its chambers and valves. Students will define pulse and tell where the pulse may be taken.
