Class Summary - Today we watched two episodes of the tv show, 'What Would You Do?'. I asked students to put themselves in the position of the people who were being filmed by the hidden cameras. What would they say if they saw something that was obviously wrong. Silence is often seen as approval. I told students that it is good to mentally rehearse what they would do in these types of situations so that their point is more effectively made. When emotions are involved sometimes our words don't come out right. Mental rehearsal can help. The two episodes that we watched were September 1st's portion on a grocery bagger that had down sydrome and July's episode portion where a girl was getting harassed by a boyfriend at work.
Homework: Mentally rehearse what students would do in a situation where they saw something wrong.
Objectives: Students will prepare their communication skills to use in a situation where they see injustice or wrongdoing.
