Class Summary - Today we took our Tuesday textbook quiz. Then we started talking about the brain. We discussed how often the brain is talked about in separate parts; the cerebrum, cerebellum, brain stem and diencephalon. We discussed the cerebrum, the largest part of the brain, mostly today. The cerebrum has two hemispheres connected by the corpus collosum. We talked about the gyri (ridges) and sulci (grooves) in the brain. Today we also discussed the lobes of the cerebrum which are separated by main sulci. The lobes are the frontal lobe, parietal lobes, occipital lobes, temporal lobes and the insula lobe. We also discussed what main functions happen in each of these lobes.
