Class Summary - Today we discussed sexually transmitted infections. Students were to go to https://www.cdc.gov/std/healthcomm/fact_sheets.htm and research different infections. Then they were to match cards with their infection. We reviewed that abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent STIs. We discussed the difference between bacterial and viral infections. Bacterial infections can be treated with medication but with viral infections only the symptoms can be treated. The bacterial infections that we covered were; chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis.
