Class Summary - Today we introduced tissues. There are 4 types of tissues; Epithelial, Nervous, Muscular and Connective. We then focused on epithelial tissues. We learned descriptive terms like simple (one layer) and stratified (multiple layers) and squamous (flat), cuboidal (square), columnar (rectangular). We looked at pictures, gave examples of places on the body where you can find these tissues and practiced naming the epithelial tissues. There will be a short quiz tomorrow on naming epithelial tissues.

Objectives - Students will identify types of epithelial tissue. Students will identify location and purpose of epithelial cells.
