Stress Advocacy and Interpersonal Communication Role Play
Class Summary - Today in class we finished our sensory stress balls. When finished, we watched a 15 minute Ted Talk on how to make stress work to a student's advantage. The Ted Talk is linked below. Then, we did some role play activities that helped us practice skills of advocacy and interpersonal communication regarding stress and stress levels. The situations are listed in the presentation below.
Homework - Test thursday, students should bring their stress profiler and their biodot sheet.
Objectives - Students will evaluate effective strategies for dealing with stress (Standard 1 Core Concepts), Students will demonstrate how to effectively communicate stress levels to someone else (Standard 4 Interpersonal Communication), Students will examine barriers to making a healthy decision related to managing stress (Standard 5 Decision Making), Students will make realistic requests to others to promote healthy stress levels (Standard 8 Advocacy)
